Federation of North Texas Area Universities
Graduate Student Research Symposium
Texas Woman’s University
Denton, Texas
Friday, February 26, 2010
The Federation of North Texas Area Universities is pleased to organize its first Graduate Student Research Symposium. The Federation of North Texas Area Universities is a consortium of three institutions in the north Texas area: Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and the University of North Texas. The primary purpose of the Federation is to engage in institutional collaborations for excellence in selected graduate degree programs and fields of study, to facilitate graduate students' professional development and graduate student research opportunities, and to coordinate administrative services for the benefit of graduate students at the three institutions. The Federation gained approval from the State in 1968 and has been in existence since then.
For the symposium, Dr. Ashanti Johnson (click here for Dr. Johnson's biographical scketch) will be the keynote speaker, and graduate students from Federation disciplines across the three universities will gain the opportunity to present their research findings in the form of poster; experts in the discipline will judge each poster and provide feedback to each student. There will be awards for the best posters and many door prizes. We look forward to hosting this symposium and to having everyone attend and benefit from this very important symposium.
• Registration Instructions
• Registration for Others
There is no cost to students to register to attend the symposium, but attendees must register so that an accurate estimate of attendees can be determined. Students should complete the following: 1) registration form and 2) the abstract form if they are presenting a poster and e-mail both forms to their university representative shown on the form by the deadline, February 12, 2010. Students should complete the abstract form as completely as possible since the abstracts will be incorporated in the abstract booklet to be distributed at the symposium.
Graduate students who are not presenting posters are also welcome to attend, but should register using the appropriate form in the registration section.
Faculty members who will be judging or just attending should register using the appropriate form under the registration section.
